Christmas is coming - Remember to invite the birthday boy
Christmas will soon be upon us and, for many, there will be opportunities to meet relatives and friends and perhaps socialise with work colleagues at the annual Christmas bash. Decorations will be retrieved from the loft and the annual ritual of trying to figure out which Christmas Tree bulb has blown will be
undertaken until the frustration of it all results in the purchase of those new-fangled LED lights that are supposed to last for 50,000+ hours (i.e. about 6 years continuous use or perhaps a lifetime of Christmases). Food and drink will probably be consumed possibly in too great a quantity and we can all gather round the telly to see relatively new films that have not been on before. Presents will be exchanged, some will be really good, others will be duplicates of what is already owned and some you would not want to be seen dead in.
All fine and dandy but, on its own, that is not really what Christmas is all about. It is about a gift and one that lasts forever and should never disappoint – after all, Jesus is for life and not just for Christmas.
